What Are You Doing to Inspire Yourself in Your Business?
I ran across this cute article about a special gift that Ken Evoy's SiteSell customers gave him and how it reminds him of what his business is all about.

The story reminded me of what I've been doing lately with my office. But I'm not just going to babble on about my personal life here. There's something you can take out of these two stories to help your business. I'll get to that in a moment, though.

I've slowly (with help from my family at Christmas) been gathering items that inspire me. I've decorated my office with replica swords from movies that have touched me with their portrayals of courage, persistence, and sacrifice. I've added artworks that inspire and encourage me.

And I've surrounded myself with pictures that remind me of my greatest accomplishment: the adventures I have had with the six wonderful children that my wife and I have had the honor of raising.

My office is becoming a room that reminds me of the need to be bold, to be honest, to be fearless in all that I do. It's an important part of what keeps me moving forward in my business every day.

And here's where it comes back to you. What are you doing to inspire yourself? If your business is simply about making money, chances are good that you won't make the money you want and you'll quit.

What are you doing to make your business something deeper and more lasting? How are you striving to make a difference in the world around you? Making a difference doesn't have to be strictly a social or a political thing.

Ken Evoy makes it possible for online business owners to have the greatest chance of success by providing them with the most complete system for creating a profitable website ever devised. He puts his feet up on that tortoise footstool that his customers gave him and he's reminded that his efforts have touched many lives.

A friend of mine runs a business that creates beautiful etched artwork in mirrors and glass. As he looks around his business, he sees etchings like those that he knows have brought joy to thousands of customers around the world. It's deeper for him than just the money; he's brightened people's lives.

I look around my office and am reminded that my business is more than just uploading pages to the Internet; I'm touching people's lives and helping them to overcome the odds against them living the kind of life of which they dream.

Most people look at their business merely as, "How can I get people to give me money?" That's a sure recipe for business failure. If you're looking at it in that way, try seeing it this way instead: "What can I do to enrich others in such a way that it's only natural for them to repay my efforts with their money?"

Finding a deeper purpose to what you're doing is crucial to keeping you and your business moving forward. And reminding yourself of that deeper purpose is crucial to keeping you on track.

Hottest Offer for February 16 -- FREE
I've mentioned a couple of times in the past few weeks the benefits of building an online business with SiteBuildIt!

Today I can give you a peak behind the SiteBuildIt! curtain. Today's hottest offer lets you see -- for FREE -- the training videos that help SiteBuildIt! owners build sites that give them a big edge over their competitors.

What you get for free
SiteBuildIt! is currently creating a video training library to help its customers find profitable business niches and build successful sites. The process that they teach for doing this has a proven track record of success.

So what good do their videos do you if you're not a SiteBuildIt! owner? Simply this: they haven't put them behind the password-protected, members-only section of their site yet. That's right. Those videos are out there for anyone to watch, SiteBuildIt! owner or not. (I'll tell you how to find them a little later.)

Granted, the videos show you how to use tools that non-SiteBuildIt! owners don't have access to. But even if you don't have those exact tools, there's a lot you can discover from these videos about how to duplicate the same techniques that give SiteBuildIt! owners such a huge edge over their non-SiteBuildIt! competitors.

Once you know the steps that give SiteBuildIt! owners that huge advantage, you should be able to find your own ways to duplicate them. And, frankly, one of the key niche-finding tools that the videos describe is accessible for free to anyone.

OK, maybe you wouldn't consider using a tool that you actually have to **gasp** pay for.

No problem. Here's a chance to find out what makes SiteBuildIt! owners so successful without it costing you a cent. Take advantage of the fact that SiteBuildIt! has left these videos out where you can still access them (right now the first eight of the ten are done and ready to watch).

I can't guarantee they won't go behind password protection once the whole set is complete. But make use of them while you know they're available. There's a reason why SiteBuildIt! owners have a greater history of success than their competitors. Here's a chance for you to discover their secrets.

To see these videos, go to the SBI Action Guide home page. Then click on the Video Action Guide Table of Contents link in the far upper left corner of the page. And enjoy!

Give a Man a Fish...
Remember that old saying, “Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day; teach a man to fish and he’ll eat for life”? There's a twist on that saying that's important for Internet marketers, especially those who deal in information, to know.

Although teaching someone to fish is the better long-term solution for the hungry person, the thing that brings their wallets out of their pockets is when you hand them a fish, preferrably fried and ready to eat. Most people want a ready-made solution, not something that they have to work at.

We're dealing with people on the Internet here, remember? You know, that place that has given the phrase "short attention span" a whole new meaning?

At the Internet marketing seminar I recently attended, each of the speakers offered some sort of coaching program at the end of their talk. One thing that struck me about each of these coaching offers was how much the focus of the offer was more on something ready to use, with training as more of a side benefit.

One speaker promised “a complete turn-key business along with extensive training on how to run it.” Another offered “a complete website to produce and market your teleseminars, along with a complete set of scripts and templates so you can base all of your future teleseminars off of the one I do for you.”

Now I'm not knocking these speakers or their offers. Hey, they're making big money because they know what works. And it's worthwhile to pay attention to what they're doing and to try to incorporate their insights into what you do as well.

So I encourage you to look at your business. See what you can do to incorporate a “fish” at some point in your sales system to satisfy the people who are more interested in buying a fish than in learning how to catch all the fish they could ever need.

Keep training them to fish if that's what you do. But be prepared, too, for those who only want to buy their fish ready to eat. Otherwise, you're leaving money on the table.
