Just released
Two things to announce tonight:

My latest newsletter is on its way early Sunday morning. It features:
If you haven't already subscribed, you can do so at http://www.onestopwebsupport.com/newsletter-signup.htm

The other thing to announce is that the ebook that I contributed to, "Ordinary People Can Earn Huge Web Profits" now is available. I looked over the review copy that the editor sent me today and was really surprised. It features articles from over 60 successful web marketers and none of it was the recycled marking ideas that you usually find in compilation ebooks like this.

A lot of fresh voices and a lot of innovative ideas. Check it out for yourself. I think you'll enjoy it as much as I do.

Struggling to Escape My Comfort Zone
Writing my new e-report is going steady, but is still kind of a struggle. It's funny. I've written for so many different genres before, web content, essays, speeches, magazine articles, newsletters, catalogs and many more. But the fact that I've never written an ebook before makes it feel like an entirely new world.

The ebook is coming together well, but is definitely a step out of my comfort zone—which is a good thing. I've gotten too comfortable with the familiar lately.

Anyway, while checking some resources I thought might be good to include, I came across a real winner (and one that fits right into my current need to step out of my comfort zone as well). It's called BANABU. I know, weird name. It stands for "Building a New and Better Universe."

And it's a great resource for anyone similarly trying to break out of their comfort zone and expand their potential. It focuses on 11 principles to help you make more effective use of your own skills and abilities and it made a lot of points that really hit home.

Check it out, it's a great help!

On to Another Project -- Viral Ebooks
It's been one big project after another this week. After getting the new look and feel up for the main website, I've moved on to creating a short viral ebook. My ebook will be one of the free bonuses for an ebook that another marketer will release the middle of next week.

The ebook he's selling features an article I wrote, along with tips from over 60 other Internet marketing experts. (I'll fill you in on his ebook early next week. I've seen a preview copy of it and the tips are fabulous!)

He asked me also if I would be willing to offer a short ebook as a bonus. I kept getting distracted by other projects and now I'm down to the end. It means my ebook will be even shorter than I planned. But it will cover a smaller but nonetheless hot topic, "Escaping the Two Biggest Mistakes that Failed Businesses Make Online."

Why bother to put together a free ebook for another marketer's promotion? It's a matter of WIN-WIN-WIN. He gets more value to add to an already outstanding package. His buyers get crucial tips. And I get another chance to show them what kind of help I can give them in starting their businesses.

Everybody gets something worthwhile. It's the best way to operate a business online.

A New Look for One Stop Web Support
I've been working lately on updating the look and feel for my main website, One Stop Web Support. I'll finish phase one with the most noticeable changes sometime tomorrow.

It will feature a much cleaner look with many fewer links per page. Some of those links will return as I work on future phases, but in a much more focused way.

The site has grown to the point where there were simply too many directions that people could go. Hopefully, this will provide a more comfortable experience.

How can you tell when the new look is up? Look for a dark green border around the entire page (except for the weblog pages, which will still have the same look they now have). Feel free to drop me a line and tell me what you think when you see the new look!

Anyone Want $500 Guaranteed--Even if You Fail?

Derek Gehl is obviously bored and that's good for you. Derek is a top marketer who has made over $56,000,000 online since he and his old colleague, Corey Rudl first got started marketing online. "Well, good for him" you might say. "But what does that have to do with me?"

Derek's boredom is good for you. I've been getting emails from him the last couple of days with all sorts of crazy ideas he's doing to make things a little more interesting for himself as he slogs through a gray Vancouver winter.

He's been toying with all sorts of contests and games and offers to stir things up a bit. One of this emails, though, really blew me away.

He just came out with a new training program to help people use their own knowledge of the things they love to start a profitable business online. And it's just the thing for someone who's always wanted to start an Internet business, but been stopped by hurdles like no website and no product idea.

He wants to prove that even a computer dummy can use the steps he's laid out to start a highly profitable Internet business, in one of the HOTTEST growth industries in North America.

And just to make things interesting, Derek is willing to pay you $500.00 to test it for him.

No, this isn't some deal where he gets you to re-sell his products. And yes, it will require some time and effort on your part.

Because while Derek can't actually do this FOR YOU (that *would* be the ideal scenario), he's taken everything he knows about achieving wealth on the Internet, including all the same secrets he's used to generate over $56,000,000.00 in online sales, and he's boiled them down into an extremely concise but complete SYSTEM that will allow you to...

.. Finally, start an Internet business you love, and leap from $0 to potentially earning a six-figure income or more with blinding speed.

Of course, you may be wondering... will Derek's SYSTEM work for you? His track record says "yes" -- but he realizes you may be skeptical, so he's willing to pay you $500.00 to find out.

Visit http://www.onestopwebsupport.com/warpspeed to get all the information, and then make your decision to enroll.

To clarify, I should tell you that if you don't succeed, Derek will pay you $500.00... If his system works for you, you'll have a six-figure-income of potentially $250,000.00 or more per year to "fall back on," and his $500.00 will look like chump change ;-)!

How's THAT for a promise?! To try it yourself, visit:

How to Find Media Files Online with SearchIt! Free Research Tool
The SearchIt! free search tool consists of a window with two dropdown boxes and two text boxes. In the two dropdown boxes, you select the type of search you want to do. In the two text boxes, you select the search criteria (such as keywords or URLs) you want to use.

Rather than repeat the introductory info about SearchIt! that I shared previously, I suggest that you see the October 2nd blog for this information. Or simply realize that it is important to click all the links and read all the instructions that SearchIt! tells you to do.

You'll find SearchIt! A LOT easier and more valuable to use if you do that.

Using SearchIt!
Last week we started covering some specialized search tools, including ways that SearchIt! can help you see what people are saying about your site on the Web and how it can help you find potential joint venture partners. This week we'll look at how SearchIt! can help you find images, videos and sound online.

In the Step 1 dropdown box, scroll down under Advanced Search and select Images-Videos-Sounds.

Click the dropdown box for Step 2: Select Search Type. You'll see the following options.
(Note: These options may change. The SiteSell people (who maintain the SearchIt! tool) are constantly adding new search tools to it.)

Image searches
All image search options operate in the same way. Creative Commons and flickr let you search for images that you can use for free on your site in return for following the conditions the owner sets for each photo. iStockphoto also allows you to use images on its site for a $1 one-time charge. Google and Yahoo! images are not necessarily available for use on your site, but are invaluable if you want to see images that are being used in connection with certain keywords on other sites.

Type your keyword in the Step 3 box and click the SearchIt! button. Read the intro page for some interesting comments about using images on your site. Then click the link at the bottom of the intro page to get your results.

Sound searches
All sound search options operate in the same way. Like the Google and Yahoo! image searches, these sounds are not necessarily available for free use. They represent the sound files that are somewhere on the Web.

Type your keyword in the Step 3 box and click the SearchIt! button. Read the intro page for some interesting comments about using sound on your site. Then click the link at the bottom of the intro page to get your results.

Video Search - AltaVista
Like the Google and Yahoo! image searches, these videos are not necessarily available for free use. They represent the video files that are somewhere on the Web.

Type your keyword in the Step 3 box and click the SearchIt! button. Read the intro page for some interesting comments about using video on your site. Then click the link at the bottom of the intro page to get your results.

End of Series
This concludes our series on the many ways that SearchIt! free multipurpose research tool can help your build your business. I'm working right now on bringing together all 18 of these tutorials into an ebook that you can use as a handy reference for building your business.

All in all, SearchIt! can find you lots of valuable information. The main thing to remember is to READ THE DIRECTIONS. With as many tools packed into this one interface, you're not going to take one look at it and intuitively understand how to use every one of them. But the directions they give are easy, and they do more than just tell you how to use each tool; they also throw in tips on how to use the results you receive to make your site more successful.

SearchIt! is one of these free tools that really produces value for you. I recommend that you check it out and make it a part of your web marketing arsenal.
